Trust Media 2010 - 2013

My responsibilities as an Arts and Media Assistant for the Trust included generating and developing creative ideas, filming, editing and uploading footage and online content to the company website.

Various community projects involved working with local schools and youth groups on film, documentary and stage productions (linked to both the new Curriculum for Excellence and ASDAN Programmes).

I also worked with an older community group of retirees, who wrote a collection of their own family history stories based on their heritage, which was published in a book I assisted in writing and designing. I then brought each of these individual stories to life in mini documentary-style films by compiling historical documents and images as well as conducting interviews of the group members.

Camp America 2013

During summer 2013, I travelled to Philladelphia in America where I took up the position of Videographer / Camp Counsellor for Camp Kweebec, and taught children of various ages how to use camera equipment and make their own videos.

Also employed as a camp counsellor, I shared the responsibilities with 3 fellow counsellors for the health, safety and wellbeing of our ‘bunk’, which included seven 9-year-old girls.

African Impact Volunteering - 2014

While volunteering with African Impact for 8 weeks in Livingstone, Zambia, I had the opportunity to work alongside fellow volunteers within the local community; assisting with farming, landscaping and building projects, as well as working within clinics, hospitals and villages practicing home-based care, providing healthcare for locals.

I also worked with various children of all ages in schools in different classes including Art, English, reading clubs and after school care.

BBC: 2014 - Present

I first started working for BBC Scotland as a Runner / Production Assistant in 2014 and progressed to Production Management Assistant, Production Coordinator, Researcher, Assistant Producer and currently Digital Content Producer.

I’ve worked across many different productions and platforms, both developing and creating content for Children’s, teens and young adults.

I have experience in setting up shoots, organising and arranging materials, props and travel, arranging and leading auditions, sourcing and liaising with contributors and talent, self-shooting, video and photo editing and writing treatments, scripts, blogs, and copy for web and social media posts.
